UGC-NET phase 2 exam postponed, will be held between September 20-30

The second phase of the UGC-NET examination has been postponed and will now be conducted between September 20 and 30, UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar said. Earlier, it was scheduled to be held between August 12 and 14. The admit cards will be issued on September 16 and the city of the examination centre will be displayed on September 11.

An idol of Goddess Parvati that was allegedly stolen from a temple in Tamil Nadu in 1971, has been traced to an auction house in New York, authorities said. The 12th-century copper alloy idol is worth $212,575 (around ₹1.69 crore) and measures about 52 cm in height. It dates back to the Chola period, authorities said.

174 dengue cases reported in Delhi so far this year

A 45-year-old debt-ridden share trader died by suicide in Surat, Gujarat. The deceased, Praveen Kumbhani, was allegedly getting threats from people to whom he owed money, police said. Kumbhani was a resident of Kanteshwar Mahadev society, but ended his life in another apartment in Katargam. The deceased has left a suicide note as well, police added.
