The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday conducted searches at six locations linked to DC Motors owner and car designer Dilip Chhabria and also registered a money laundering case against him. Dilip was arrested in 2020 by the CIU team of Mumbai Police after his company was found to have allegedly availed loans of about ₹40 crore from non-banking financial companies.

Central Consumer Protection Authority's Chief Commissioner Nidhi Khare said the regulator has issued notices to 4-5 EV manufacturers, taking suo motu cognizance of consumer complaints regarding a series of EV fires. "We asked them to provide reasons for series of fire incidents...and why [we] shouldn't take action," Khare said. Other concerned ministries are also examining the issue, she added.

Biliti claimed the vehicle, named FastMile, has a refueling time of less than three minutes and offers a range of up to 209 kilometres. Nissan Motor India on Friday said that it had shipped over 10 lakh vehicles from the Renault-Nissan manufacturing facility in Chennai. Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a 5% fall in its total two-wheeler sales at 3,15,054 units in July 2022 as against 3,30,569 units in the corresponding period last year. While domestic two-wheeler sales rose by 5% to 1,64,384 units, exports fell by 14%. The commercial vehicle sales rose by 3% with 39,616 units sold against 38,547 units in July 2021.

Uber has recorded positive quarterly cash flow for the first time ever in the April-June 2022 quarter, generating free cash flow of $382 million as trips exceeded pre-pandemic levels. The number of drivers and delivery agents on its platform also rose to an all-time high of almost five million. Uber's net loss in the quarter stood at $2.6 billion.
